Bulk Waste Guidelines

  • No Need to Call Ahead:  No need to contact City Hall in advance; just place your eligible items at the curb for pickup.
  • Placement: Place items at the curb by 6 AM on pickup day, and not earlier than 24 hours prior.
  • Quantity Limit: Up to 3 cubic yards per month.  If you have more than 3 cubic yards out for collection, the driver will leave the overage at the property. Not sure how much a cubic yard is? This example might help!

  • Spacing:  Maintain a distance of 5 feet from mailboxes, cars, gas meters, shrubs and any other obstructions.
  • Safety: Keep items 10 feet away from utility poles to avoid contact with overhead power lines.
  • Size:  Ensure bulky waste fits within the garbage truck's hopper and is manageable by two persons.
  • Packaging:  Bag or box small items such as twigs, paper, grass and leaves. Do not use personal cans, as any containers at the curb will be removed.
  • Accepted Items:  Household appliances, furniture, mattresses, cardboard boxes that are broken down and bundled, water tanks, water heaters, tree limbs/wood scrap tied with strong cord and in two feet by four feet (2' X 4') bundles not weighing more than 35lbs each and fencing (up to 4 fence panels cut in half, for a total of 8 halved panels).
  • Special Items: Refrigerators and air conditioners are accepted if the compressor has been removed or if they have a sticker showing certified removal of the freon. Otherwise, these items are considered hazardous waste and will need to be taken to the OKC Hazardous Waste Facility
